Johnson Open Body Lifeline Turnbuckles

Stainless steel open body turnbuckles - toggle jaw and machine swage ends. Forged silicon bronze bodies with ends manufactured from type 316 stainless steel. Breaking strengths are approximate -- Johnson Marine recommends a working load of not over 40 percent of the listed breaking strengths. NOTE: Standard finish for 42 series is tumbled and plated. Johnson Lifeline Fittings: Adjusters

Johnson Lifeline Adjusters. Adjuster Turnbuckle is a jaw to swage design with a stamped, strap design with a Knurled nut for adjustment. Made of 316 grade stainless steel/bronze construction. The Short Adjuster is made of 316 grade stainless steel and is generally used at the stern rail in conjunction with the single gate eye to tension that section of the gate.

Johnson Lifeline Fittings: Single Gate Eyes

Made of 316 grade stainless steel. The Single Gate Eyes are a single eye used on one end of the gate area to attach the gate hook, available in either swivel or threaded. The eye to eye fitting can be used whenever an eye is required on each side of the stanchion.

Johnson Lifeline Fittings: Toggle Jaws

Made with 316 grade stainless steel, these toggle jaws are generally used at the stern rail when no gate is required with a turnbuckle forward. The "T" Style uses a "T" bolt, where the other uses a toggle nut.

Johnson X-tra Length Splice Line Turnbuckle

Because even the lowest stretch cordage has more "give" than cable, Johnson has developed a fitting to address this issue. The new fixed, one end swivel jaw to hook turnbuckle is easy to use, requires no tools, features a soft cushioned grip for easy adjustment, and knurled nuts to lock down this fitting. A full 7" of adjustment will fulfill the range needed for both cruising and racing sailors. Approximately 12" closed, 19" open, 1/4" pin.

Johnson Splice Lines

Johnson life line fittings are now available with eye ends for today's high-tech, low stretch line. Johnson recommmends 1/4" Amsteel line from Samson. This 12 strand single braid is 1/7th the weight of 1/4" cable, offering the same strength at nearly the same cost. Johnson recommends changing out the lines at 3 years intervsals. Professional splicing recommended.
