F/30 Replacing Deck Blocks & Hardware

The following information is a synopsis of the information found on the F/30 class web page as of October 18, 2006, and included in the F/30 Class Association release entitled "USWatercraft Deck Gear Specification" dated May 6, 2008. All hardware listed below is class legal.

Helpful information from the class rules:
“10.3 DECK GEAR LAYOUT - Deck gear layout shall comply with drawing #101A in terms of size and specification and location of deck gear. All deck gear shall be non-custom standard production catalogue items. All deck gear items shown on drawing #101A are mandatory and shall not be moved, modified or removed unless otherwise permitted by these Rules or the F/30 Management Group. Where the location is not specified in these Rules the location is optional. Spinnaker block Item #33 from Drawing 101A may optionally be attached to pad-eye #40. Fairleads, cleats, jammers and padeyes are the only additional deck gear items permitted. The owner may replace the standard tiller extension after delivery of the yacht. The standard stainless steel footrests supplied with each Mumm 30 (Farr 30) may be moved to suit the helmsman but shall be installed on the cockpit sole. All equipment shall comply with ISAF Offshore Special Regulations (ISAF OSR) Category 4.”

45. Is it permissible to replace two blocks on the mainsheet fine tune with ratchet blocks?

Yes. According to Class Rule 3.4. The mainsheet fine tune blocks may be the original block, Lewmar part #29900211, Lewmar's equivalent replacement, part # 29901321, or the 40mm Smartratchet, Ronstan Part # RF 42100.

Each genoa lead car takes 60 1/4" torlon balls (120 total) and the main traveler car takes 69 1/4" torlon balls. Purchase two of part number LW29171021 (bags of 100) and you'll be left with a few spars just in case you lose some while loading the cars.

Each high load racing single (LW29901611) takes 56 3/16" delrin ball bearings. These are part number LW29170022 (bags of 100). The replacement part number for the 'D' shackles for theses blocks is LW19500100.
