Rudder and Replacement Parts

Rudders are made of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic). The FRP rudder has the same design profile as the older wooden versions but with a great surface finish and shape, along with superior durability -- the FRP blade is the standard on racing boats.

LP85158 (FRP) Complete Assembly's include rudder blade and rudder head; the tiller is sold separately.

Boats Built Before 1972: Sunfish built before 1972 used a different rudder and attachment system. If your boat has not been converted, you'll need to purchase the LP85138 Rudder Conversion Kit which includes a rudder and rudderhead, tiller and extension and new attachment hardware (includes necessary fasteners).
