Spinlock's asymmetric extension improves helming performance by providing more feedback for accurate and precise control, and increasing mobility so the helmsman can maintain the optimum position for control, visibility and reduced pain and fatigue. The asymmetric grip fits the hand better and supports the wrist. Helming with two hands allows the arms to relax in a more comfortable, elbows-down position.

The extensions can be quickly released from the tiller for stowage. The Diablo universal is preferred by single-handed yachtsmen because the windsurfing-style universal joint returns the extension to the vertical position when released, making it easy to find. The SPEA900SG has a foam grip on the tube.

Diablo extensions require a 3 to 4 week special order.

Similar in construction to Spinlock's ES asymmetric handle tiller extensions, these feature a slimmer, joystick-style grip which is great for boats with a smaller cockpit or for hiking or fast tacking. Can be upgraded to handle grip by adding the EA-HDL handle (see Spinlock Tiller Extension Accessories).

The Diablo universal stands the extension up when released, keeping it from jamming the tiller and making it easier to find. The SLEA900SG has extra foam grip.

Replacement tiller extension parts are model specific. The C/Series are for pre-1998 extensions while the E/Series are for extensions made from 1998 forward. C/Series and E/Series parts are NOT interchangable.

Adjustable length aluminum shaft with a foam grip and ball end. Uses the R3133 Ronstan quick release rubber universal. Features positive twist lock telescope feature. Tubes are 5/8" (16 mm) and 3/4" (20 mm) in diameter and the foam grip is 1-1/4" (30 mm) in diameter, not counting the ball end. Four size models to choose from:

Lightweight, aluminum extensions with a 5/8" (16mm) diameter tube, 1" (25mm) diameter foam grip and a foam ball end. Aluminum tube is fluted for extra rigidity. Include an RF3133 universal.

Ladder extensions have a 5/8" aluminum shaft that's fluted for extra rigidity, and a three rung foam grip. Grip has a 7/8" diameter (22 mm). Uses the RF3133 Rubber Universal Joint. RF3116 is 26" (660mm) long and weighs 14.4 oz (400 g). RF3118 is 36" (914mm) and weighs 17.6 oz (500 g).
