Selden Deck, Mast, and Eye Swivels |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Selden deck swivels are designed to follow the movements of the trimmer. Used for main sheets on keelboats and smaller yachts. It can also function on bigger boats if the purchase of the tackle is sufficient. The swivel has a vertical articulation that can be easily adjusted from a flat horizontal lead to a steep 45 degree angle. Deck swivels are comprised of composite and stainless steel. Selden mast swivels are made of composite, 50/50 glass fiber/polyamide. Mast Swivels are mainly used as a cunningham, spinnaker and Gnav. The sheave has two optional positions. You can either run a line coming from above the swivel into the sheave or a line from below the swivel into the sheave. Mast swivels can be fitted upside down depending on the desired orientation and function of the cam cleat. The sheave is a ball bearing type.Selden eye swivels are designed for control lines close to the deck and jib sheets on dinghies. Eye swivels can be used on larger boats if the purchase tackle is sufficient. One eye swivel on each side of the coach roof is an ideal set up for the vang. Having this placement prevents broaching because the crew can quickly reach the location on the boat. Angle of articulation can easily be adjusted using 2 screws. The angle of horizontal movement can be adjusted in 5 different positions, from a fixed arm to 300 degree angle of movement. Swivel sits on stainless steel ball bearings for durability. the eye swivel is constructed of a glass fiber filled polyamide with an electro polished, stainless steel guide.

Spinnaker Halyard Cam Base |
|||
![]() |
One of the major "trouble" spots in a race can be the spinnaker launch and takedown -- coordination between the people running the mast and pit has to be perfect and speed (as always) is key. With seconds being crucial, this spinnaker halyard cam base is a perfect way to speed things up while making things easier in the pit.
Here's how it works: - the launch of the spinnaker is made easier because when the halyard is jumped at the mast, because the cam is now reversed and captive. This takes the pressure off the person jumping the halyard to try and get that last pull into a mast-mounted cam. At the same time, the person running the pit does not have to worry about the spin halyard until things have calmed down and can focus on other duties. - the douse is made easier because the person running the pit can now easily disengage the spin halyard from the pit with a simple tug of the halyard, bringing it flush with the mast. This allows the person running the mast to assist with the collection of the spinnaker. Cam cleat not included -- use the existing cam cleat on your boat. You'll need to drill two additional holes for this cam base; don't forget to use a product like Duralac to prevent electrolytic corrosion. |

Ronstan Cam Cleat Swivel Arm Bases |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
RF7: The RF7 has a medium C-Cleat and Fairlead. Features a height adjustable arm for optimum cleating angle, and twin ball bearing race. An adjustable-tension ratchet system prevents the arm from falling to leeward, and they can be set up to swivel through either 360° or be restricted to 260°. RF8: The RF8 has a medium C-Cleat with Fairlead. The arms are fabricated from 8mm alloy plate for heavy duty applications. Swivels through 360°. For both models, the fork has a 5mm pin to permit direct attachment to the head post of a block without a shackle. You can reverse the cleat on all four for a downward release and upward cleating action, or use it in its standard configuration for an upward release and downward cleating action. Great for mainsheet systems on dinghies and sportsboats up to 8m (26').
* Line size only takes cleat into account, and may be further restricted by choice of block. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A revolution in swivel bases. Has a light weight wire frame construction for superior torsional rigidity. In the high-load ball bearing base Delrin ball bearings ensure smooth rotation while stainless steel balls bear vertical load and nearly eliminate vertical play. Carbon cam cleat with fairlead cage. Adjustable base pins that allow you to determine the arc of swing and keep the arm from falling to leeward when the sheet is not under tension. Great for dinghies and small keel boats. Hole spacing is on a four-hole pattern with 20mm spacing on centers. Use M5 (3/16") fasteners.

Ronstan Swivel Base with A-Cleat |
|||
![]() |
The RF60 features adjustable stops to limit rotation, which can also be removed for 360° rotation. The A-Cleat cam cleat is mounted on a heavy gauge aluminum arm for stiffness under load. The heavy-duty bullseye fairlead has a flared stainless steel liner to reduce friction and wear. Unlike other bullseye swivel bases, the bullseye on the RF60 stays stationary relative to the boat while the cam arm swivels around it. This allows use in higer load applications like vang control on a small keelboat or sportboat, or pole launcher on an FD or 505. Suits line from 3 to 12 mm (1/8" to 1/2"). Working load is 175 kg (385 lb) and breaking load is 350 kg (770 lb). Use 4x 5mm (3/16") fasteners on square pattern, with hole centers 20mm (25/32") apart on each side. |

RF5: Made from lightweight fiber reinforced composite. The sheave has two possible positions to accomodate leading the line from above or from below and to allow the whole unit to be inverted to allow cleating in an upward or downward motion in relation to the lead of the line. The RF5 can be mounted to a slightly convex curved surface. RF20175: Stainless parts are Grade 316. Can be mounted to lead line from above or below, and the cam cleat can be inverted to provide the desired cleating motion relative to the lead of the line. If the cleat is inverted you will not be able to use the fairlead.
