the efficiency of Harken Radial® winches with the
sandblasted grip of its Carbon Fiber racing winch
for a powerful hybrid. Performa winches transfer
high loads to the winch with fewer wraps, allowing
crew to trim and ease sails quickly and repeatedly
as wind strength and directions change.

| Two- and three-speed racing winches are offered with hard anodized aluminum drums and feature PEEK® bearings for exceptional weight savings, low friction, and high performance. Each winch features “super gripping” composite or aluminum jaws and sculpted one-piece line guide and peeler.
Two-speed self-tailing racing winches are ideal for most primary, secondary, halyard, running backstay, and control line applications. Three-speed self-tailing winches are used as secondary and halyard winches on large racing boats and as primary winches on shorthanded racing boats. Standard & Racing Quattro |

| The patented Quattro is an innovative all-in-one winch used on boats that require extremely fast winches to handle large asymmetrical spinnakers, but also need power to trim the genoa upwind. The Quattro features two drum diameters and four line speeds. The wide-diameter lower drum is used for fast trimming, the upper drum when more power is needed.
Self-tailing Quattro winches are used on larger offshore boats that trim on the cabin house: speed for the spinnaker, but power and self-tailing ability for the guy and halyards. Standard winches have stainless steel roller bearings. They feature ball bearing races to support the vertical load of the drum. | Large wide-body self-tailing racing winches are used primarily in pedestal-driven, high-load applications. Self-tailing winches feature “super holding” composite jaws, and one-piece sculpted line guide and peeler.
They utilize 17-4 PH gears for superior strength, alloy housings for light weight, and PEEK® drum roller bearings for low maintenance and high efficiency. First gear is selected by pressing a button on top in the center of the drum. The winch then auto-shifts from first to second to third on successive crank direction of rotation changes. | Wide-body, three-speed racing winches are ideal primary and secondary winches. The wide-body’s large drum diameter gives exceptional line speed for faster trimming. These wide-body racing winches are all supplied with a top cleat for fast, convenient securing of sheets.
Direct-drive, wide-body racing winches offer crews a 1:1 speed for very fast trimming of the genoa in light conditions or of the spinnaker at any time while retaining a geared first speed for heavy air work. Select first gear by depressing the name-plate next to the handle socket. Reverse handle rotation and the winch will automatically move to the next gear in sequence. When the locking device is activated, the winch locks in the two fastest gears for rapid downwind trimming. | Primary/Mainsheet Winch The base and housing of the IACC primary winch are machined from solid 6061 aluminum. The carbon drum is manufactured with space-age prepreg lamination techniques and autoclave curing. The winch gears are titanium and 17-4PH stainless steel. The 1111 winch comes in three or four speeds with a plain top or self-tailing drums. The grinder selects the correct gear using a remote foot button. Runner Winches The powerful three-speed 990 is now lighter and more reliable. The drum is cast from permanent-mold tooling, with a carbon fiber self-tailing mechanism to reduce weight. This winch has a 1:1 first gear for pedestal grinding. A 100:1 power ratio allows easy top grinding by one trimmer. Gears are coated titanium. Halyard Winch This small, powerful, race-proven self-tailer is safe to 3000 kg (6600 lbs). The carbon drum and coated titanium gears save weight. Traveler Winch This carbon self-tailing winch has titanium gears and titanium and aluminum drums for durability. Racing Pedestals |

Pedestal-drive winch systems are used for applications demanding speed and power. One or more crew can crank from a powerful standing position. Pedestal systems are customized to meet the specific needs of each boat.
Belt Drive Pedestals Harken® belt drive pedestals are available molded in carbon fiber/epoxy. Drive components are fabricated of Hardkote-anodized aluminum and 17-4 PH stainless steel. Roller bearings and belt sprockets made of high-performance engineering thermoplastic-reinforced drive belts ensure the lowest possible weight. In addition to the standard below-deck drives, belt drive pedestals can be supplied in “mid-drive” form. These pedestals not only offer a significant weight savings, but are also useful in building a removable pedestal. To open up cockpit space for long-distance racing or cruising, these systems can be removed in just a few minutes and the winches converted to top action. Shaft Drive Pedestals Harken® shaft drive pedestals are made of a high-strength aluminum alloy that is Hardkote anodized for a durable finish. Gears and bearings are 17-4 PH stainless steel. Shaft drive pedestals offer great flexibility because the input and output drive shafts do not have to be parallel and there may be as many as four output shafts. Shaft drive pedestals are available in two standard heights. Other heights are offered on a custom basis. They are also available with either fixed or rotating heads. Rotating heads can be locked in four positions to allow the grinder to face in a variety of directions.
