This pair of compasses is an ingenious development allowing the racing sailor to easily read the true wind direction from his compass when sailing to windward. Developed in conjunction with international top racers, they are the ideal compasses for any yachtsman who wants to take maximum advantage of wind shifts when racing to windward. Principle : most races are won sailing close-hauled. On this point of sailing, the crew must take advantage of every variation in wind direction. The main advantage of The Tacticians is to allow the true wind direction to be read when beating on starboard or port tack. Wind oscillations (lifts or knocks), average and extreme changes in wind direction may then be easily taken into account when deciding racing tactics (selected by the French Olympic Team Sydney 2000). |
