Holmatro Emergency Wire or Rod Cutters

Holmatro's Emergency Rigging Cutter's are the best available solution to a terrible scenario -- if you need to cut through your rigging quickly, this is the best tool to use. ORC Section 4.16 requires any boat competing under ORC rules to have an "effective means to quickly disconnect or sever the standing rigging from the hull shall be provided". When time is of the essence, you don't want to be fooling around with a hacksaw or relying on a battery operated cutter that might run out of juice halfway through.

These emergency rigging cutters are hand operated hydraulic cutters, designed to cut rod and wire rigging made of materials many times stronger than those applied in cars. For safety, an integral spring actuated safety latch will keep the tool on the rod whilst cutting, and the adjustable rod support makes for easy and effective cutting. Also, the cutters feature automatic cutting blade return after each cut on the HOLERC30H model, with a separate release valve on the pump body for the other models. The cutters use fast 2-stage hand pumps (not available on the HOLEWC16H and HOLERC12H) for quick cutting action.

All Rod Cutters will be supplied with a waterproof protective case for easy carrying and the Wire Cutters will be supplied in a carrying bag.

Developed for remote operation, this type of emergency cutter is connected to a separate hand pump by means of a 3-metre hydraulic hose. The cutter is locked onto the rig and remains in place unattended. This enables you to cut at a safe distance and stand back from flying ends if the rig is still under tension.

Unit features a spring actuated opening of safety latch and adjustable rod support for easy and effective cutting. Safety latch will keep the tool on the rod while cutting. All three units have a separate release valve on the pump body to return the blade. All rod cutters are be supplied with a waterproof protective case for easy carrying and safe storage.
