K-Blocks by Karver |
Simple and efficient, the innovative K-Block is outstanding for numerous applications. Attached by a basic lashing and combined with a simple design, they are very light yet achieve very high working loads. Between the light weight of the block and the lashing, you can save about 50% weight over conventional blocks. Lashing through the block's center increases safety in the event of block failure, since the line remains captive in the lashing. Lashing also allows for a huge range of applications and mounting positions, and reduces noise compared to mechanical attachments such as shackles and pins. Lashing instructions from Karver can be found here The standard Karver blocks are assembled with rollers and ball bearings to ensure very low friction. The KB6 and KB8 have yellow composite cheeks istead, while the KB10 and up have aluminum cheeks. Ideal for sheets and halyards, where a line under high load must turn on a long radius. The High-Load versions (part numbers end in "C") all have aluminum sideplates and feature self-lubricating, Teflon impregnated bearings to ensure a high working load and breaking strength in relation to their size. Ideal for applications like runners, barber haulers and cunningham, where a highly loaded line must turn on a tight radius.

KBOw Ratchet Block by Karver |
A world first! The Karver KBOw Block is attached through the center, AND the ratchet works in either direction. KBTi and KB Blocks by Karver |
![]() |
Designed with the Volvo 70's and Cup boat sailing teams, the low friction KBTi blocks are up to 70% lighter than any other existing block on the market. Blocks are designed to be used with high tech, smaller diameter lines and have smaller sheaves to compliment the change. Lashed through the center, they also have the same safety features in case of over loading, where even if the sheave breaks, the rope is still captive by the lacing.
KBTi blocks are made of titanium or stainless steel. The titanium is the lightest, but is not allowed in all classes, if yours is one of them, it is also available in stainless steel. The cheeks are in carbon fiber and the bearings are ceramic or high strength alloy. In addition to being very lightweight, the blocks have very low friction under load, minimum size and maximum safety. *Call for a quote- Prices may vary from prices shown.
