Beneteau 40.7 48STA by Harken |
|||
![]() |
Primary Winch Self-tailing winches are ideal for sheets, halyards, and control lines on racing and cruising boats. The self-tailing mechanism means that one crew member can quickly and easily trim or raise sails. Two-speed winches enable quick grinding in first gear out of a tack or jibe. When the sheet loads up, the reverse direction gives more power in second gear. Featuring “super holding” jaws and one-piece sculpted line guide and peeler. Winches up to the 53 have composite fiber-filled self-tailing jaws that have a gentle angle and tooth design for easy entry and “super holding” with or without load. Four springs ensure that jaws open evenly so line is easy to insert. |

Lewmar winches must be serviced regularly, as they are required to carry deceptively high loads. Regular servicing, with attention to correct assembly and condition of parts, is vital to the safety and performance of your boat.
You should service your winches two or three times during an active sailing season: each winch should be stripped, cleaned and re-lubricated. At the end of each sailing season and before starting the new sailing season, all Lewmar winches should be completely stripped, cleaned, thoroughly checked for damage and lubricated. Consult the Winch Service Manual that came with your Lewmar winch for the proper maintenance schedule for your particular winch. The Full Maintenance Package contains 10 Pawl Springs, Race Lube, Grease, a brush, and Instructions.

All of these products are advised for use in routine maintenance of your Harken winches, to ensure proper performance and long life:
Harken Winch Grease: a non-aging, high adhesive synthetic lubricant. It is resistant to both salt and fresh water, and protects metal gears, roller bearings, and all moving winch parts from corrosion and wear. Note: do not grease pawls, plastic rollers or balls. Harken Pawl Oil: used to lubricate pawls and springs for maximum performance. |
