This F/30 Main Halyard has a 1/4" AmSteel Blue tail spliced to a wire portion of 3/16” 7x19. The single shank stop ball is swaged just over a foot from the bearing surface of the pin of the Wichard 81433 shackle. This measurement is very standard, but if the hole in your headboard was punched in a non standard location you may need us to make this to a different distance. We encourage you to measure your existing halyard on a bench under tension to be sure of the distance you require. When ordering, you will be prompted to enter a length if different than ours.

This is a great way to keep a spare halyard around for less $$. If you have a main halyard with corroded, meat hooked or just worn out wire, send it to us to be refurbished. As long as the 1/4" Spectra tail and headboard shackle* are in good shape, we can bring it back to life. We will make you a new wire assembly with ball stop reusing your existing shackle. Then we cut your spectra tail from the old halyard and splice it to the new wire assembly. Lastly, we add 4’ of new spectra tail to the end to make up for what was lost in splicing and cutting. Now you have a new halyard at around a 40% savings. Cheap insurance just in case your primary halyard fails at a regatta.

Our absolutely lowest stretch halyard is PoBOn. It is covered its entire length to protect the core and has a Tylaska T5 trigger shackle eye spliced on. Our Vectran halyards, Crystalyne and V-100, are stripped to reduce weight and have luggage tag eyes in the working end so you can easily install your existing shackle (or they be purchased separately). All have reeving eyes in the bitter ends for easy mast installation.
