The Melges 24 Jib leads are a dinghy single block secured to a eye slide car, both attached to a T-Track, secured to the deck. The eye slide cars are made from Type 316 stainless steel. Welds are gas shielded and quenched. Slides are tumbled, polished and passivated for lasting shine. The T-Track is aluminum and incorporates a concave shaped riser that allows it to accept sealant for mounting to the deck. |

Melges 24 Jib Sheet Adjustment |
|||||||||||||||
![]() |
Running the jib sheet back to the cockpit, it is led from a 75mm Carbo Cheek Block to a cam cleat. For the Carbo cheek we recommend using a Ratchamatic, however a Ratchet can be used. The Ratchamatic is a load-sensing ratchet block that rolls freely in both directions under low loads, and automatically engages the ratchet as loads increase. Shifting between ratchet and light air modes is seamless. Unloaded main and jib sheets run out freely during mark roundings. Sheave is Hardkote-anodized with eight faces for secure line holding. Ratchet engagement may be adjusted to a higher or lower load according to strength and sailing style. The Ratchamatic ckeek block mounts on either port or starboard. |

Tack Line block is a 40mm Carbo AirBlock.
Carbo AirBlocks are lightweight, strong, reliable—and affordable.These are features all sailors look for when choosing sail controls and a real breakthrough in block design. These small, compact blocks have very high working loads for safe, easy trimming no matter how hard the wind blows. Sideplates of high-strength engineering resin are UV stabilized to provide excellent protection against long-term exposure to salt water and sun. Carbo blocks are perfect for the small-diameter hard lines favored by racers. |
