| Waterproofing Spray, Water Repellent, & Cleaners A fair amount of the technical clothing we carry here at APS is treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) coating that helps the garment bead and shed water. During the course of normal use, the DWR coating on a garment will start to wear away -- fear not because it's easy to bring the DWR coating back to life to maintain and revive your foul weather gear. To do this, we really like the ReviveX line of products for this job as they consistently bring the DRW coating on the garment back to a "like new" status. Restoring a DWR coating is easy -- we recommend starting with the ReviveX Cleaner, which is designed to clean technical fabrics and properly prepare them for revitalization. This cleaner works easily in your home washing machine; just follow the instructions. After using the cleaner, revitalize the DWR coating using either the ReviveX Water Repellent Spray or ReviveX Wash-In Water Repellent. The first is an easy to use waterproofing spray that quickly and easily sprays onto your garment, bonding with the fabric or existing DWR coating to revive and protect your foul weather gear. The second is even easier to use -- just add the wash-in repellent to a second washing machine cycle for no fuss application. |

Gill's Aftercare System has two great cleaners that help to restore and rejuvenate your Gill Marine garments to their original finish.
Gill Intensive Spot Cleaner 2.5 oz. The Intensive Spot Cleaner uses a concentrated citrus formula that penetrates deep into the fabric to remove stubborn dirt such as oil and grease. Gill Wash-in Cleaner 10 oz. Developed for use on all Gill waterproof, windproof and wicking fabrics. Concentrated formula means that it can be used in a washing machine or by hand washing. Contains liquid Silver which is proven to kill bacteria and therefore prevent unpleasant odors. |

Revivex Water Repellent Spray 5oz or 10oz GORE® shell fabrics (and most waterproof materials) are treated with an active durable water repellent (DWR) fluoropolymer. With normal use, DWR is eventually worn off. Use Revivex to restore a garment’s DWR. Revivex coats areas of the fabric where the original DWR has worn off. It also ‘mates’ with the remaining DWR to restore water and stain repellency. Ten ounces treats approximately four garments. |
