Tylaska/Sparcraft SP Snap Shackles |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Tylaska SP6, this is the same shackle that has had its place in every major yachting event since its creation. This light, strong and reliable shackle has been the solution on boats up to 50 ft. Made from the same durable 17-4PH stainless as before, the castings are now hipped to create a finished part similar to a forging in strength and metal consistency.
Tylaska has also revived the old #10 snap shackle and has renamed the time proven design the Tylaska SP10. From the windy waters off Sardina to the rough and trying seas for 12-Meters off of Freemantle, the #10 has been there. This shackle has been the workhorse of most major races for decades. Made from investment cast and hipped 17-4PH stainless and suitable for boats 50 to 100 feet. Both shackles offer a larger inside diameter than Tylaska's traditional shackles.

Speedlink by Wichard |

![]() |
Every detail of the new Speedlink quick-release shackle has been computer optimized to maximize strength and functionality while minimizing weight.
The Speedlink shackle was developed using advanced strength analysis software to give it the best strength/weight ratio on the market. Its advanced design uses cutouts and ribs to reduce weight in non-critical areas, while maintaining full strength where necessary. Forged in HR 17.4PH stainless steel, they can bear exceptional working and breaking loads. Efficiency was also an essential design element for the Speedlink shackle. Its unique design can be easily opened under load, either manually, or using the release fid. The optimized shape reduces the risk of unintentional openings, especially under impact, and the large openings allow lines and fingers to fit easily into place. The special load-bearing surface of the swivel eye also minimizes rope wear.

Tylaska Asymmetrical Tack Rings |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| With the growing popularity of the asymmetrical spinnaker, tack rings provide the bowmen with the best configuration for the job. By taking a solid nitronic 50 rod, bending it into a ring and adding either one or two Tylaska SP shackles, the problems of jibing a large asymmetrical sail are greatly reduced.
Designed to be on the snout of the boat or tack line on an asymmetrical sail. Available with either a Tylaska #6 or #10 shackle.

Tylaska Afterguy Pucks |
|||||||||||||||
The afterguy puck is generally used to prevent the shackle from running into the pole end and getting stuck or causing damage to the jaw. The afterguy pucks use the same high-strength nitronic 50 ring as is used with the asymmetrical sail rings. A machined delrin donut helps reduce chafe on the afterguy. Made for both the SP6 and SP10 shackles, the pucks are offered in both single and double shackle versions.

Tylaska Linked Shackles |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Tylaska shackles are also available as a stock item joined together at the bails. This arrangement is ideal for temporarily holding the guy during a running spinnaker change or “peel” as it is sometimes called. Using an elaborate molding technique, Tylaska casts the two bails linked together as one unit, eliminating weakness from cutting and welding as is normally done by the competition. Two Tylaska trigger shackles are then fitted to the linked bail to produce a “peeling strop” or “handcuffs” as they are often nicknamed. Other configurations available upon request including welded ring versions and individual linked bails.
