System 30: Genoa Lead Cars

Selden system 30 is used for keelboats and yachts up to approximately 45'. The genoa car is either black laquered aluminium with sliderods or an extruded and anodised aluminium car with Torlon® ball bearings. The function of the end cap is to keep the cars on track. The genoa cars are available for pinstop operation and for control lines. Genoa car and end controls come with integral beckets for control lines. Ø50/60 mm plain bearing Acetal sheave in the genoa car. The control lines have a Ø40 mm plain bearing Acetal sheave. The suitable max size of control line is Ø8mm.

The sheave house on a genoa car articulates 40° sideways, 8° aft/ forward and can also twist to a certain extent. Enables the sheave to align correctly to the sheet direction, particularly important when installed on curved surfaces.

For the genoa car + sheet lead, the sheet lead is used to send the sheet correctly to a winch with a shallow angle. A genoa car + becket, two cars are used to set up and position a new sail for sail changes. Uses a longer track and a cable or line to connect the cars. All safe working loads for Seldén genoa cars are based on 70° sheet angle.

System 30: Pinstop Tracks
Selden Pinstop tracks are available in three different sizes: 22mm, 30mm and 42mm widths. Track size is determined by the boat size. Generally a size 22mm track is ideal for keelboats and yachts up to 33'.

Pinstop Tracks are used for pinstop genoa cars. The pinstop track is a spring loaded plunger that fixes the genoa car on the purpose made track. The fasteners can be located according to existing bolt holes. Sliding bolt tracks are ideal for retrofit upgrades. It is also used for applications where the bolts can be hidden.

Selden Standard Tracks are used for cars that are adjusted with control lines and for self-tacking systems. Pinstop Tracks are used for pinstop genoa cars. The pinstop track is a spring loaded plunger that fixes the genoa car on the purpose made track. High beam tracks are used for unsupported main sheet systems and self tacking systems. The sliding bolt track is ideal for a retrofit upgrade. The fasteners can be located according to existing bolt holes. Sliding bolt tracks are used for retrofit upgrades. It is also used for applications where the bolts can be hidden.
