1x7 Dyform type cable is both more aerodynamic, and stronger than traditional 1x19 wire. The greater breaking strength and formed construction also means there will be less stretch compared to 1x19 stranded wire of the same size.
Performance dinghies may also be able to downsize shroud diameters when switching to Dyform. This will reduce weight aloft, as well as further increase aerodynamic efficiency.
