The ultimate choice for dinghy halyards or control lines.
Dinghy polytec is made with a hard wearing, easy to handle technora and polyester blended cover. With an SK78 Dyneema core for minimal stretch and high strength.
Hi, this is Kyle from APS. I'm here to share with you some of the characteristics of dinghy Polytech Line by FSE Robline.
This is a really unique dinghy control line or halyard line. It is a jacket of ... and it's a 32 carrier jacket really tightly woven and smooth. It's a blend of polyester and Technora. The Technora is more abrasion resistant than the polyester. If you've got something that's been eaten up in a ratchet or especially in a clam or a clamcleat or from a chafing situation, this would be a really nice upgrade to this type of jacket. You're going to get a longer service line life out of it.
It is a braided, coated, DSK-78 Dyneema core, so you can pull the jacket back and bury it and you can have some really light ends and you can do a 12-strand eye splice on the end of this if you like. If you leave it covered and you wanted to do an eye splice this jacket's so tight you're not going to be able to do a typical, you might be able to, it'll be tight, high tech eye splice. You would probably do a core-to-core eye splice, either leaving the jacket back here on doing a 12 or just ending the jacket before you bury it down the last bit.
Two diameters, 5/32”, 3/16”, and two color ways. The 5/32” and you notice that we have, and this is the core, very tightly woven core on the smaller diameter, and you'll notice we've taped this line prior to cutting it. Normally we would just put a heat gun to it and cut right through a polyester or spectrum. Because it has Technora the heat gun doesn't go through that. So that this doesn't fray we tape it and then we cut it with shears. Just to show you the core again on the larger 3/16”. Again, a medium to tight core weave.
