More information on Snap Shackles:

Wichard and Ronstan swivel eye snap shackles are lightweight, small and have high working strengths. No need for replacement parts: the plunger pin is set captive for life. These snap shackles are hot drop forged from high resistant stainless steel. Only forging creates a superior steel product, by increasing its elasticity and maximizing the steels internal strength. A forged snap shackle will deform long before breaking. It will not burst or break suddenly. This is a guarantee for safety.

We offer three types of bails on Ronstan Nicro snap shackle: standard swivel (S-bail) commonly used on jib halyards, large swivel (FR-bail) for use on spinnaker gear or where the attachment of two lines is needed, and the forked swivel (P-bail) for a jib tack fitting.

Tylaska’s J-Locks are now available in four sizes. The J-8, J-12, J-20, and J-30 have breaking strengths of between 8,000 pound (J-8) and 30,000 pounds.  Special features include a unique patented double locking pin to prevent accidental opening during flogging. Splice these onto your jib and genoa sheets to allow quick and easy sheet attachment. Streamlined design prevents snags during tacks and jibes.
