Karver KF Furling systems can be found outfitting boats from a 20 ft. cruiser to 150 ft. mega yachts. They are lightweight, compact and offers a unique locking drum mechanism. This locking feature can be controlled from the cockpit and enables you to operate the system with only one hand. In addition to the safety advantages of a locking drum, it also prevents the risk of accidental unfurling and removes the need clutches on the furling line. The lightweight and shock absorbent plastic cover encloses the spool and resists permanent deformation that may restrict or interfere with the system's ability to rotate. The plastic cover avoids potential scratches and tears that may occur with a metallic covers when the mechanism is taken off or stored with the sails and sheets.
K.F. Furlers have a notch on the spool allowing fitting or removal of the loop line without removing the line cover or dismounting the system. This eliminates the need to remove the cover and avoids the risk of losing small parts (screws, pinsﾅ). It also keeps the mechanism closer to the deck by avoiding the necessary displacement required for removable covers and increases the available luff length by minimizing the height of the spool and tack fitting. The loads applied to a furler are particularly high on the swivel or upper mechanism. To help with this Karver utilizes low friction, stainless steel ball bearings to ensure smooth rotation under the most extreme loads.
System includes drum and upper swivel. Karver provides several accessories that offer options for proper installation, ease of use and to maintain functioning of all hardware involved in their code zero furling systems.
