A Selden Rodkicker is designed to perform many functions. First, it facilitates sail handling when reefing, preventing the boom from dropping into the cockpit or onto the coach roof. Next, when fitted with Selden gas spring, that keeps the boom lifted when the vang line is released, opening the leech of the sail.
The extended block attachment lug allows the block to turn, so you can easily operate from port or starboard. The end fittings have an enclosed sheaved and recessed split pin that doesn't snag the sails or crew. Inner extrusion end plug prevents metal to metal contact by acting as an easy-slide bushing. The upper sliding bearing is designed as an elastic buffer to diffuse the shock if the kicker suddenly bottoms. Carefully tested to meet strict performance and quality standards. Made of anodized aluminum.
This No Spring Rodkicker is standard equipment on Selden equipped Hunter boats.
Designed for boats that are either fractional and weighing 5.5 tons or masthead weighing 6.6 tons.
