More information on Inspection Ports:

Inspection ports can be found in a variety of boats in several different sizes, colors and materials. These capped openings in your boat can be useful airing out the hull, inserting airbags, and holding gear. In dinghy’s these inspection ports can be especially useful for granted access to bulkheads that you might not be able to get inside otherwise.

You should check the integrity of your inspection port often. The last thing any boat wants is a leak! These ports are made out of ABS plastic or polypropylene and can be susceptible to UV and weather damage over time.

Sold as a unit, these twist or pry caps include the outer ring that attaches to the boat. When installing your inspection port, make sure to use marine grade sealant and stainless steel fasteners to ensure an opening that won’t leak. For a water tight seal, a flexible o-ring is placed in between the lid and the screw cap. Need a replacement? We’ve got spare o-rings too!

APS carries inspection ports, replacement o-rings and port accessories from Viking and RWO.
