Mustang HIT Inflatable PFD

It will only automatically inflate when submerged in 4 or more inches of water and not prematurely due to rain, spray or humidity. No inflator maintenance is required for 5 years unless the PFD has been inflated. You can easily view the inflator status and replacement date through the safety inspection window. This is the HIT Auto-Inflating PFD by Mustang. This is available in a couple of different styles. This one has the harness built-in, two D-rings for attaching your tether, or it's available without. The inflatable bladder comes in the traditional kinda orange color, or it's available in a new, the high-vis green. Makes you a little bit more easy to see in the water. So basically four different configurations, with or without a harness, and then what color bladder you'd like to get with these. A few of the features, we've got neoprene all the way around the neck, makes it very comfortable while it sets, doesn't chafe.
If I needed to manually inflate this, I can just pull this down. This has the hydrostatic inflator here, and I can see through this window whether this is green or red. Green, everything's good. Red, you need to replace your CO2 cartridge. Entry is through this front buckle here. If you need to manually open the vest, you can just open the side tab here. You can see where the zipper is already opened, and all you have to do is pull and the whole thing will come open. That's another advantage. Back in the day, most of these were closed with Velcro, which could come open. Now they're using these zippers, which are a lot easier to load and they hold together longer. All right. So to get into this, I've got side adjustments right here. If I wanted to add the crotch straps or the leg straps, they're sold separately and they would attach in the back, come all the way through, and attach in the front.
I've gone ahead and inflated the vest using the oral inflator here. I wanted to show you the difference in the color. The traditional orange bladder and the new fluoro that makes it a lot easier to see someone in the water when they're wearing this. Feature-wise, I've got reflective tape here. I've got a safety whistle. I have a strap with cut-out that allows you to install an ACR strobe. Or if you wanted to use another brand, they usually come with straps. You can put it right on here. If I had my leg straps attached, that would keep this vest down and keep it from wanting to ride up on me. This provides 36 pounds of flotation, which is substantial, and it'll keep you high in the waves. So this is the HTI Auto-Inflating Life Jacket by Mustang.
