Endurance, ease of use and simplicity of installation are crucial components of Harken®s MKVI Jib Furling System. Their design is lightweight, aerodynamic and can handle extreme reefing loads making it a great fit for performance racing and cruising sailors. These free-rolling furlers make all the difference in headsail control by allowing racers and cruisers to quickly furl and reef from the safety of the cockpit, while maintaining great sail shape and optimal speed. Aluminum line guard, torque tube and swivels have a deep-saturation anodized hardcoat for strength and durability, with a black additive for no-fade UV-stabilization and corrosion protection. The line guard is also powder coated for added corrosion resistance. The drum cap is engineered from tough polymer resin.
Systems feature free-rolling ball bearings, computer-designed stacked bearing races and large-diameter drums for smooth reefing and furling. A free-spinning, high-strength halyard swivel reduces weight aloft to minimize pitching and heeling. They system offers double foil grooves to allow for fast hoists, douses, and sail changes ideal for club racing. MKIV jib reefing and furling systems are designed for owner installation and are adaptable to a variety of rigging possibilities.
Seven-year limited warranty. A toggle is required for all MKIV units but is sold separately to accommodate the various sized clevis pins needed.
