Velocitek Prism Ultralight Electronic Racing Compass
The Prism Ultralight Electronic Racing Compass from Velocitek is stripped down for racing, and comes in an ultralight, compact package—just 4.8 oz (137 g). It uses magnetic input as heading reference, with no memory, no user inputs, and no arithmetic functions—it's class legal anywhere an electronic compass is legal, including thistle, laser, etchells & many other one-design classes
The sunlight-readable, high-contrast LCD screen has 1.1" (29.8mm) tall digits in a highly-readable font that is visible over a 250° angle. If your boat is under 40ft long, you can mount Prism on your mast and read it from the cockpit.
Prism mounts via a slide-in cradle (included) which can be surface-mounted to a bulkhead or attached to compatible deck and lash brackets. The cradle has recesses for lashing your compass in place.
This compass uses a high-precision, 3-axis, solid state magnetometer designed for aerospace applications to provide superior accuracy and responsiveness. It is battery powered with solar charging. Prism is waterproof, designed to withstand continuous immersion at 3m (10 ft) for 30 minutes. Every unit is pressure-tested before it ships.
